NEWS: Competition date changed to 16th of April, 2006

COMPETITION DETAILS

CanDo are hosting a competition to design the best online interactive 3D car level using their new online vehicle application. The competition is free to enter, and the free and fully functional evaluation of our application can be used.

RULES

You can create pretty much any type of 3D vehicle game level that you can think of.

You can enter as many times as you like, in as many categories as you like. Remember though, it's quality not quantity!

One of the few requirements ( well, this one is optional, but preferrable ) is that you create a 3D model in the scene ( with the CanDo logo ), which will return you to a web page containing all of the entries in the competition ( http://www.candointeractive.com/competition ). This will create a virtual hyperlink between all of the entered levels, allowing players to view a number of different competition levels ( see Instructions.DOC for more info ).

The real requirement deals with allowed content ( eg poster textures etc ) within the game levels. Basically, the game should be playable by a 10 year old kid. If you think that your visual content might not be suitable, then it probably isn't. Use of a little bit of common sense here will ensure that all levels are suitable.

All final entries must be submitted by the extended deadline of 16th of April, 2006.

You can download the free evaluation of the application ( that can be used in the competition ) from the link below...

It's a 7Mb download, including,,,
- a sample 3D scene for you to load, change, export and drive around
- the .EXE to run it from your hard drive
- the files required to upload it to your website

I'D LIKE TO HELP BUT AM BUSY, I CAN GIVE YOU 5 MINUTES IF YOU GIVE ME QUICK INSTRUCTIONS

- Download the app
- Load up your 3D application ( eg Max, Maya, Lightwave, GameSpace )
- Load the 3D scene from the .ZIP file ( in the 3D scene folder )
- Export the scene as Shockwave 3D ( file->export [ Shockwave 3D format ] ) over gamelevel.w3d in the main folder
- Run the .EXE

Now, go back, change the level a bit, and re-export. Hopefully your changes will be reflected immediately.
